Hei Tiki Whale Bone Necklace

Hei Tiki with paua shell eyes. This unique piece is carved from spem whale jaw bone found on the shores of the Far North of New Zealand.  According to legend Hei Tiki was the first human on earth who originated from the stars. They are thought to bring good luk and fertility. 

Hand-carved by Sitiveni Tupou, a Tongan-born artist based in New Zealand. Tupou has been carving bone since the age of 14, learning from his father, a master with over 40 years of experience. Each piece reflects Pacific traditions, blending his skill, cultural heritage, and artistic talents to create beautiful carvings.
