Pounamu Hei Tiki Pendant

A fabulous Hei Tiki Pendant handcrafted from a gorgeous piece of pounamu. A special Taonga for a very special loved one.

According to Maori legend Hei Tiki was the first human on earth, originating from the stars. Traditionally worn by Māori as ornaments of respect and status, they are a prestigious gift to be handed down as taonga (treasure) through the generations carrying the wisdom and mana of those who wore them previously.

This side-hung hei tiki was carved by Yuki Tanaka from kawakawa pounamu sourced from Marsden of Te Wai Pounamu, Aotearoa. 

110mm x 70mm, has a mat finish, and is bound with an adjustable black hand-braided cord.
