Hook Whale Bone Necklace

Beautiful Hei Matau (fish hook) design. This unique piece is carved from sperm whale jaw bone found on the shores of the Far North of New Zealand. The Hei Matau represents strength, prosperity, and abundance. It also provides good luck and safety when travelling over water.

Hand-carved by Sitiveni Tupou, a Tongan-born artist based in New Zealand. Tupou has been carving bone since the age of 14, learning from his father, a master with over 40 years of experience. Each piece reflects Pacific traditions, blending his skill, cultural heritage, and artistic talents to create beautiful carvings.
